]]> Gilmer’s only sports bar and grill has moved into town! An extension of Duds on the lake, Dud’s on the Range has a nice menu that includes breakfast, standard “bar and grill” type fare but stepped up to almost a gourmet level for some offerings. Menu (from their official site is below).

“Gilmer friends – I would highly recommend giving Huey’s Coffee a try. It’s locally owned and they are super friendly.

I didn’t know this until going by today, but they have shaved ice, flavored tea, and normal tea just to name a few. They say there’s more to come. I got the feeling that if you could come up with a drink, they could make it.

Gilmer’s very own brewery, as you might have guessed from the name. As I scanned the reviews I counted 3 “love this place” and 3 “good food” right off the bat. I have friends that come here all the time, and it’s always nice to have live music right in town.

According to their website they also offer special events from time to time and also provide private parties and events upon request. And they offer a variety of eats to go with your brew. Not your typical “bar food”, we’ll provide a range of tasty treats & snacks. They encourage a family friendly atmosphere with a nice open area a free games to play.

And every beer they serve is made right there in house, you have to stop by!

Krawdaddy’s has quickly become a favorite local spot for excellent crawfish and shrimp. And at the time of this writing they don’t have their license yet to sell alcohol … you know what that means … FREE BEER!!

This is one of the few places that crosses over from “where to eat” into the category of “things to see and do” as well. I recommend it to anyone visiting, be sure to check before making the drive if they are open, and not booked for an event.
